The item listed is an O.E.M. triple solenoid valve manufactured by Whirlpool for the 5 cube infrared sensor controlled ice maker. It is designed to coordinate with ice maker systems that have water filters embedded in the refrigerator. Please see both pictures. The original part number may be substituted with its schematically idential twin. The only difference is the color of the terninals. Both valves have the inlet coupling 1/4" stainless steel to the 5/16" quick connect outlet.

More recent versions of this are less $$$ and are made for systems where the water supply goes straight to the filter housing below the refrigerator. This valve is made for older systems that have a threaded 1/4" inlet for the supply line. Some of the older valves also have jaco threaded fittings and nuts but this quick connect connection style is indeed the factory authorized replacement.
